Vehicle Rust Proofing Service

Available Year-Round in Western New York

In Western New York, rust isn’t a possibility—it’s inevitable.

Salt, brine, and moisture work together to attack your vehicle’s undercarriage, leading to:

  • Structural weakening
  • Brake line failure
  • Suspension damage
  • Costly repairs

Rust proofing is not a cosmetic service—it’s a preventative investment that protects your vehicle’s safety, lifespan, and value.

Road salt, moisture, dirt, and winter driving conditions can cause corrosion to develop underneath your vehicle and inside areas that are difficult to see.

At Lawrence Automotive Detailing, we provide a professional rust-proofing service designed to protect the areas of your vehicle that are most vulnerable to corrosion.

We have simplified our rust-proofing program into one comprehensive service using one carefully selected product and one repeatable application process.

No confusing packages. No unnecessary upgrades. Just straightforward rust protection performed with care and attention to detail.

Rust Proofing Service – $600 Plus Tax

Our rust-proofing service is designed to provide thorough protection while keeping the process efficient, consistent, and affordable.

The service takes approximately four hours to complete.

What’s Included

Before applying the rust-proofing product, we spend approximately 30 minutes preparing the underbody using wire brushes and high-powered vehicle blowers.

This preparation helps remove loose dirt, debris, and flaking surface material that could interfere with the application.

After that we remove head lights and taillights. This allows us to reach areas that are often overlooked.

We then wrap and protect the exterior of the vehicle with plastic to reduce the possibility of overspray reaching the painted surfaces.

Once preparation is complete, we apply NHOU Boss Wax Hybrid to the vehicle’s corrosion-prone areas.

Application areas include:

  • The complete underbody
  • Inside accessible frame rails
  • Rocker panels
  • Door shells
  • Hood shell and engine-bay perimeter
  • Rear hatch or tailgate shell
  • Accessible seams, cavities, and corrosion-prone areas

We do not apply rust-proofing material to braking surfaces, exhaust components, belts, filters, or the driveshaft.

After the application is complete, we remove the protective plastic, perform a final inspection, and clean all exterior glass before returning the vehicle.

Why We Use NHOU Boss Wax Hybrid

After working with multiple rust-proofing products and application options, we chose to standardize our service around NHOU Boss Wax Hybrid.

Boss Wax Hybrid combines the penetrating and moisture-displacing characteristics of an oil-based product with the added durability of a wax-based coating.

The product is designed to:

  • Penetrate seams and difficult-to-reach areas
  • Repel moisture
  • Protect exposed metal
  • Create a more durable protective barrier
  • Remain flexible instead of becoming hard and brittle
  • Help protect vehicles with light to moderate existing surface corrosion

Using one product allows our technicians to follow one consistent process and provide a more predictable result for every customer.

Optional Professional Overspray Removal – $150 Plus Tax

Although we take precautions to protect the exterior of the vehicle, small amounts of rust-proofing material may still reach exterior surfaces during the application process.

For customers who would like a more detailed exterior cleanup, we offer our Professional Overspray Removal Service for an additional $150 plus tax.

This service adds approximately one hour to the appointment and includes the removal of rust-proofing residue from accessible exterior painted surfaces, trim, and door-jamb areas.

This option is especially beneficial for customers who want the vehicle returned with a more thoroughly cleaned and finished exterior presentation.

Is Surface Rust Removed?

Our standard service includes approximately 30 minutes of surface preparation using wire brushes and vehicle dryers.

This preparation is intended to remove loose dirt, debris, and flaking surface material before application.

It is not a rust-restoration or rust-removal service.

Heavy corrosion, scaling, structural rust, and previously damaged metal may require mechanical repair or professional restoration before rust-proofing can be applied effectively.

We will evaluate the general condition of the vehicle before beginning the service and will communicate with you if we identify anything that may affect the application.

Is Rust Proofing a One-Time Service?

Rust protection should be treated as an ongoing vehicle-maintenance service.

The condition of the coating can be affected by:

  • Winter driving
  • Road salt and brine
  • Gravel roads
  • Underbody washing
  • Vehicle mileage
  • Off-road use
  • Existing corrosion
  • Repairs performed underneath the vehicle

We recommend having the vehicle inspected periodically so the condition of the coating can be evaluated and any areas of concern can be addressed.

Annual Inspection & Touch-Up – $200 Plus Tax

Rust proofing is not something we recommend applying once and forgetting about. Your vehicle is constantly exposed to road salt, moisture, gravel, dirt, undercarriage washing, and normal wear that can gradually affect the protective coating.

For $200 plus tax, returning customers can schedule an Annual Rust Proofing Inspection & Touch-Up.

During this service, we will:

  • Inspect the previously applied rust-proofing protection
  • Evaluate high-wear and corrosion-prone areas
  • Identify areas where the coating has worn away or been disturbed
  • Touch up accessible areas where additional protection is needed
  • Address areas affected by normal driving, maintenance, or repairs

Rather than automatically reapplying product to the entire vehicle every year, we inspect the existing protection and concentrate our attention on the areas that need it.

We recommend scheduling this service approximately once every 12 months to help maintain the protection and allow us to identify potential concerns before another Western New York winter.

Can I Use an Automatic Car Wash?

We recommend avoiding automatic car washes that use high-pressure undercarriage sprays whenever possible.

Repeated underbody washing can shorten the service life of any rust-proofing product.

Some car washes allow customers to decline the undercarriage wash. When that option is available, we recommend selecting it.

The better the coating is maintained, the better it can continue protecting the vehicle.

What Should I Expect After the Service?

A temporary odor may be noticeable after the application, particularly as small amounts of product near warmer areas of the vehicle begin to settle.

Minor dripping or product migration may also occur shortly after the service. This is normal with penetrating rust-proofing materials.

We recommend avoiding unnecessary washing immediately after the appointment and allowing the product time to settle into seams, cavities, and protected areas.

Vehicles We May Decline

We reserve the right to decline or postpone service on vehicles with:

  • Severe structural rust
  • Excessive mud, grease, or packed debris
  • Active fluid leaks
  • Unsafe lifting points
  • Loose or damaged underbody components
  • Significant aftermarket modifications that prevent safe access
  • Conditions that could prevent the product from adhering or being applied safely

If additional cleaning or preparation is required, we will discuss the condition of the vehicle with you before proceeding.

Straightforward Protection. Professional Application.

Our goal is not to offer the most complicated rust-proofing menu.

Our goal is to provide one well-defined service, one consistent application process, and one straightforward price.

By simplifying our rust-proofing program, we can focus on application quality, technician consistency, efficient scheduling, and a better overall experience for our customers.
